The Woodland

Six hectares of community woodland and grazings, and how we care for them.

What's On

Work parties and community gatherings through the year.

Since 1999 the people of Insh have looked after some 6.3 hectares of woodland and grazings beside the village: first under lease from Forestry and Land Scotland, and, since the community purchase was completed in 2022, as owners. Work parties clear storm-blown timber, plant hedges and tend the pond; the firewood scheme delivers split logs to neighbours for a small donation; and the paths stay open for everyone who walks this corner of the strath.
